The following detailed information is regarding the Thanksgiving and Winter Closings, as well as the required timekeeping steps to take for these days.

The 大学 will be open on Columbus Day (Monday, 10月9日), 选举日(星期二), 11月7日)和退伍军人节(星期五), 11月10日). The 大学 will be closed the day after Thanksgiving (Friday, November 24) and during the four non-holiday workdays between Christmas and New Year’s (December 26, 27, 28 and 29) (referred to as the “Thanksgiving and Winter Closings”). 请注意: 圣诞节将在星期一庆祝, 12月25日, 2023 and New Year’s will be observed on Monday, 1月1日, 2024.

公告 Earning Compensatory Time: 公告 members may earn compensatory time to cover the Thanksgiving and Winter Closings. 公告 employees assigned a 35-hour workweek may work a modified schedule on any and all of the following three holidays:

  • 退伍军人节:11月10日，星期五

公告 employees may apply compensatory and/or earned leave time, 病假除外, to cover the remaining hours during the Thanksgiving and Winter Closings. If employees do not have sufficient compensatory or leave time, they may elect not to be compensated for the days on which the 大学 will be closed.

Hours worked on the aforementioned holidays by 公告 permanent part-time employees with at least a 50% time schedule will be entered in Workday as “Comp Time Accrued @ 1.5.”

  • Taking the Day Off on Columbus Day, 选举日 and 退伍军人节: If you take the holiday off, you do not have to take any action in Workday.
  • Working on Columbus Day, 选举日, and 退伍军人节: If you work the holiday, enter your scheduled hours (7.每周工作35小时，工作78小时.89 hours for a 40-hour week) for the day under “Comp Time Accrued @ 1.5.”
  • Taking the Day Off After Thanksgiving Day and the Winter Closings: Enter your scheduled hours for each day as Vacation, 补偿加班或缺勤无薪.

船尾赚取假期时间: 船尾 Professional Staff employees and Librarians may earn 船尾 Holiday Time for the Thanksgiving and Winter Closings by working on one or on all of the following holidays:

  • Martin Luther King Day (library personnel only) and Presidents Day: Beginning in calendar year 2022, compensatory time earned on Martin Luther King Day (library personnel only) and President’s Day, 在任何一年, must be applied in the same calendar year that it is earned for the Thanksgiving and Winter Closings.

The additional days of the Thanksgiving and Winter Closings may be covered by exercising provisions of the Statewide Agreement, including work on additional holidays or by applying other appropriate earned leave balances, 不包括病假.

  • Taking the Day Off on Columbus Day, 选举日 and 退伍军人节: If you take the holiday off and choose to use a Vacation day during the 2023 Thanksgiving and Winter Closings, do not take any action in Workday (as you will not earn “船尾 Holiday Worked” time for the holiday closures).
  • Working on Columbus Day, 选举日 and 退伍军人节: Enter seven (7) hours under “船尾 Holiday Accrued.”
  • 感恩节后的第二天: Please enter your scheduled hours for the day as “Vacation,“舰尾度假。,或“无薪缺勤”.” 请注意: If you use “船尾 Holiday Taken,” you will need to use one vacation during the December Closing.

  • IFPTE: Non-Facilities: If you take the holiday off, you do not have to take any action in Workday.
  • 经理: If you are absent, you must use sick or vacation time balances to account for your day.

Working on Columbus Day, 选举日 and 退伍军人节

  • IFPTE: Non-Facilities: 输入你的计划时间(7).每周工作35小时，工作78小时 & 8.89 hours for a 40-hour week) for that day under “Comp Time Accrued @ 1.5.”
  • 经理: 不要在工作日输入任何东西 for these days.
  • 警察: 像往常一样进入时间.
  • 临时及学生工: 像往常一样进入时间.

Taking the Day Off After Thanksgiving Day and the Winter Closings

记得那个星期一吗?, 12月25日, 2023和星期一, 1月1日, 2024, are considered paid holidays and no timekeeping entry is needed:

  • 非设施: For the day after Thanksgiving and Winter Closings, enter your scheduled hours for each day as Vacation, 补偿加班或缺勤无薪.
  • 经理: 不要在工作日输入任何东西.
  • 警察: 像往常一样休息.
  • 临时及学生工: 不要在工作日输入任何东西 for the day after Thanksgiving or the Winter Closings. If you have prior arrangements with your Manager to come in on these days, 请像往常一样输入时间.
